Sarus cranes have extensive red coloring down their upper neck and pink legs, whereas brolgas have red confined strictly to the head, a dark throat dewlap, and dark grey-to-black legs.
Fact: in the Gulf Country of North Queensland, Sarus cranes and Brolgas are interbreeding, creating hybridised Sarolgas.
